Landen Tischer is a farmer from Barrhead, where he lives with his wife and daughter. He is running for Peace River Westlock Federal NDP.
He was Inspired to enter politics after witnessing the Provincial UCP's neglect of rural communities and fiscal policies that harm local residents was convinced when confronted with his mother's recent breast cancer diagnosis and the high costs of treatment not covered by healthcare.
Landen advocates for expanded Pharmacare for all. He wants to ensure equitable access to necessary treatments so that no one has to rely on private sponsors, campaigns, or even insurance companies.
Seeing the need to challenge the dominance of conservative messaging, Landen ran in 2023 provincial election, increasing the NDP vote.
Landen is focused on core NDP values: access to family doctors, affordable healthcare, and reducing the cost of essentials like pharmaceuticals, dental care, and daycare.
